Melbourne Zoo App

Challenge: How can we make the zoo experience easier for parents when visiting with younger children through the use of voice technology.

Task: Create an immersive and interactive zoo experience with a focus on ease and education for children.  

Target Audience:The majority of visitors to the zoo are part of a family group usually with younger children. From this, we identified the target audience to be that of families with young children, knowing that this was a broad target market, we decided to divide it into two sections, children aged 2-5(preschooler) and children aged 6-12(school-aged child).

 

Insight: Further research indicated that the main reasons parents avoid attending
the zoo is the stress that comes with planning the day. This informed our insight: there is stress associated with visiting the zoo and trying to find the most efficient route while also entertaining children between exhibits. This led to developing our objective, to create an immersive and interactive zoo experience with a focus on ease and education.

Solution: We create a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ zoo experience with customisable, tailored stories which provide by melbourne zoo app to suit the two identified age groups. We prepare fairy tales for preschoolers. Because children are in this stage of growth, their natural curiosity may be stimulated. Fairy tales are more interesting and vivid, which can attract the attention of children aged 2-5. During the school year, children quickly gain independence and ability. Children's thinking ability and academic knowledge need to be further improved. Therefore, we provide popular science articles for children aged 6-12. With this project, there is a clear solution to the want of parents when visiting the zoo, creating a much less stressful and more efficient zoo experience.
